Aquaculture Sea Cage Technology

Deepwater cages consist of three systems: frame, netting and mooring. The frame mainly solves the breeding load and breeding proposition; the net clothing mainly solves the surrounding space of the breeding water quality; the mooring mainly solves the fixing and safety problems of the breeding system. The technical points of selecting deep-water cage facilities for breeding are as follows:

Key points of deep-water cage culture technology

1. Select the appropriate main parameters of the cage.

2. Select suitable aquaculture waters.

For aquaculture waters, choose waters with deep water level, low flow velocity and uncomplicated flow direction. Suitable aquaculture water conditions: salinity 15‰~30‰, water temperature 22~31℃, flow rate 0.65 m/several seconds. Considering the setting of deep-water cages, water depth requirements: it is advisable that the bottom of the low-tide gauge cage is about 2 meters away from the seabed.

3. Free-range large-scale seed

stocking specifications are directly related to the breeding, production and benefits of commercial fish. Due to the large size and high breeding capacity of deep-water cages, it is difficult to change the net and invert the cages. The deep-water cage culture is limited by the flow rate and wind and waves. You should try to choose large-sized seedlings for free-range breeding to prevent difficult breeding operations and shorten the production time. Breeding cycle, improve farming efficiency. Cobia are raised free-range with seedlings over 30 centimeters and egg fish over 8 centimeters, which is conducive to production arrangements and breeding operations, and speeds up the transformation of benefits.

4. Free-range suitable density

A comprehensive evaluation can be made according to the specifications of the deep-water cage, the type of planned breeding, the breeding environment, breeding technology and management level. Generally speaking, the stocking density of seedlings in deep water cages is 3-5 kg/m3, and the breeding density is more suitable for 20 kg-30 kg/m3.
